  • 30g butter
  • 1 medium onion, peeled and chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, peeled and finely chopped
  • 60ml prepared tomato sauce or passata
  • 2 tablespoons wine vinegar
  • Tabasco sauce to taste
  • 2 tablespoons sugar substitute
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 60ml water

Method Steps

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan and sauté the onion and garlic until golden.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients, bring to the boil and simmer for 15 minutes.
  3. Leave to cool, then store in a covered jar and refrigerate.
